Unofficial Drupal Handbook

While I find the documentation and forums about Drupal very useful, I realize it can be a bit technical for a lot of users. Rather than just tell people how to do something, I figure it is best for them to try it themselves. Drupal is an awesome system, and I wanted to start giving back to the community that created this great tool! Using technology is an excellent way to learn about whatever it is that you are using, but there is undeniable value in reading about what you are using as well.

Adding content on a Drupal site

This article is aimed at novice level users who would like basic instruction on adding content to a Drupal site. The Drupal Cookbook (for beginners) has a page on adding content, which should be your first point of reference - this article takes a slightly different approach.

Drupal allows users with appropriate permissions the ability to create a variety of different content, which become pages or 'nodes' in the Drupal site.

Physical locations for testing Ubercart shipping modules

In the process of setting up and testing your shipping configuration for Ubercart, it is useful to be able to quickly enter a state/province and corresponding postal code for testing purposes. Here are a couple combinations (geared towards the perspective of a U.S. retailer) to try out :

  • Hilo, Hawaii 96720
  • Koror, Palau 96939
  • Paris, France 75008
  • Col. Moderna, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico 44190
  • Col. Ricardo Flores Magón, Oaxaca, Oaxaca, Mexico 68020
